Privacy Policy

• Each photo you take or upload is sent securely (HTTPS) to our AI provider to identify the item and estimate its metals and value.
• Our AI provider processes the photo, your note and approximate region to return an appraisal, subject to its processing and retention policies.
• Signed out: we do not save the photo or appraisal to account history. Usage counters and analytics described below may still be recorded.
• Signed in with saving on: the photo, your note and the result are stored in a private area only your account can read, until you delete them.
• An automatic filter rejects inappropriate or unrelated images before appraisal.

• Only used if you allow location access in your browser or phone.
• Your coordinates are turned into an approximate place (city, region, ZIP) so appraisals use local yard prices.
• We save only that approximate region label with a saved scan — never a continuous location history, and never in the background.
• Deny location and the app falls back to national averages. You can revoke it any time in your device settings.

• Signing in stores your email and a hashed password, or your Google account identifier.
• Free users get 1 AI scan per day; Pro users get 50. Daily limits reset at midnight UTC, not necessarily midnight in your local time zone.
• We keep daily usage counters tied to your account when signed in. Signed-out usage uses an opaque device identifier stored on your browser or phone and a hashed IP address as a fallback and network abuse backstop. Signed-out visitors on the same network share an additional 2-scan daily cap. Admins can review usage totals to understand whether limits affect users.
• We record app events such as installs, scan completions, shares and subscription steps. Records can include a session identifier, page, referral or campaign information and your account ID when signed in; these are not all anonymous. Google Analytics also receives events when configured.
• Optional prices and haul confirmations you enter are stored privately in your account.

• Pro costs $2.99/month, removes ads, raises the daily scan limit from 1 to 50, and unlocks unlimited saved scans and Pro tools. Catalytic converter lookup has a separate limit of 20 lookups per day.
• The launch offer is a 2-day free trial for first-time subscribers, once per account. Unless cancelled before the trial ends, it becomes a $2.99/month subscription that renews monthly until cancelled. Checkout shows the applicable offer and billing terms.
• Free accounts can access their 3 newest saved scans. Older saved scans are hidden on the free tier, not automatically deleted when Pro ends. You can delete saved data in Settings.
• Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number; Stripe shares your email, subscription status and renewal date with us so we can unlock your account.
• Cancel any time from Settings → Manage or cancel. Access continues until the end of the paid month; we don't give partial-month refunds except where the law requires.
• Deleting saved scans does not cancel your subscription. Cancel it separately using Manage or cancel in Settings.

Free users in the Android app may see a Google AdMob banner at the bottom and a full-screen interstitial after a completed scan, after every scan. Ads are not guaranteed to be available. Pro users see neither format. Native AdMob ads do not run in ordinary web browsers; the website may show labelled sponsored slots.

Google may process device and advertising identifiers, IP address and ad interactions to deliver and measure ads under its own policies. Where applicable, Google's consent form is presented. You can also manage advertising preferences in your device settings.

We record ad requests, loads, impressions, banner taps, errors and banner revenue values reported by the ad SDK. Pop-up tap counts are estimates inferred when the app goes into the background while an ad is showing, not confirmed clicks. These records help admins monitor ad performance; reported values are not proof of money paid out. Final earnings and payments are determined by AdMob.

We never sell your personal data. We share it only with the services that run the app (hosting and database, AI appraisal, Stripe payments, Google sign-in, analytics and ads) and only as needed for them to do so, or when the law requires.

• Turn scan saving on or off, and delete all saved scans, in Settings.
• Delete any single scan (its photo goes with it) from History.
• Turning saving off stops new scans being added to history; it does not delete existing scans. Deleting scan history does not necessarily erase usage counters, analytics or records retained by service providers.
• For account deletion or other data requests, contact us through the app's store listing. Some payment or legal records may need to be retained.

The app stores preferences, sign-in session information, the signed-out scan identifier and analytics attribution locally. If you use the Pro offline queue, photos and notes are stored on your device until they can be submitted for analysis when you reconnect. Clearing app or browser data can remove locally queued photos and preferences; it does not delete account history or cancel a subscription.

The app is not directed at children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect their data.
